Part 2/2 (25hr)

March 5-7, 2021 Zurich, Switzerland

[IN-PERSON + ONLINE via LIVE STREAMING]

@STAMBHA-Lake & STAMBHA-Online

In this 50-hour training we will ‘unpack’ STAMBHA Yoga and Ultravibe in detail along with Seed Awareness which finds its home in both perspectives.

Seed Awareness concept is co-developed by Ezgi Fisher and Brian King, which outlines a simple method for the health of the body; which is a culmination of many years of experience, knowledge, perspectives that is an expression of a complicated thought process. It is able to expand itself into all movement practices as it is a wholesome approach to the physical body and beyond. This concept finds its home in both STAMBHA Yoga and Ultravibe. STAMBHA Yoga is created by Ezgi Fisher and Ultravibe is created by Brian King.

STAMBHA Yoga and Ultravibe are two distinct perspectives (with a common thought process) which complement each other so beautifully for the overall integration and organization of the physical body naturally expanding this integration and organization out into the entire universe. STAMBHA Yoga supports integration and Ultravibe supports organization: from feminine and masculine starting points. And yet they each lead to both integration and organization. Integration and organization lead to wholesomeness and health for the physical body and beyond. Ezgi & Brian mention “strength & flexibility” as a result of integration and organization.

In this 50-hour training we will be exploring this revolutionary thought process and understanding about re-integrating and re-organizing our body towards sustainable wholesomeness and health. And we will unpack this though process from many different angles through STAMBHA Yoga and Ultravibe.

The training is open to all levels of practice and experience. All is welcome, with curiosity about the health and wellbeing of your physical body and beyond!

Workshop Details:

Session 1: Friday 18:00-21:00

Healthy Spine & Hips and Fundamentals of Inversions: Asana, Pranayama and Meditation

All levels of experience are welcome since there will be abundant modifications and elemental building asana taught.  This Friday evening session will have three segments built in:

The first segment will focus on Fundamentals of Inversions. Inversions can be one of the most rewarding parts of an asana practice.  They are often intimidating or mysterious. Headstands can change your life (Ross will explain how in class), but doing them safely is paramount. Ross’ therapeutic expertise will give you the tools you need to practice these and other inversions, safely, progressively and eventually masterfully.  The class will include a short flow sequence to warm up.  We will then work on Forearm-stand, Headstand and Shoulderstand.

The class will then build into our second segment: healthy spine and hips. If there’s one thing we can all agree upon, it’s how miserable back pain is.  For the last 10 years Ross has focused on helping students around the world heal their own back pain and develop postural patterns to stay healthy.  Clearly, back pain gets in the way of our daily life but it can also be a huge impediment to a consistent meditation practice.

Our third segment will be meditation and pranayama. The practice of meditation is often heralded as the crown jewel of yoga for great reason. The list of benefits is profound: a way to find some peace, a method of understanding our deepest self, a strategy to navigate the difficulties of modern life with awareness and wisdom, and many more.  The challenges of meditation, however, are real: persistent practice, doubt and disappointment along the way, and simply the difficulty of shifting away from powerful habit of mind and body. We will explore how to plant the seeds for a life-long meditation practice.  We will dive into the relationship between the body and the mind, particularly in how our body postural patterns can help us energetically with meditation and with the practical aspect of sitting comfortably for sustained periods of time.

All students are welcome to attend.

Session 2&3: Saturday 10:00-13:00 & 14:30-17:30

BioVinyasa: Anatomy Visuals and Asana Flow-Class Combined!

One of the keys to a sophisticated yoga practice is our ability to “see” our own bodies accurately (our interoception) and then develop the skill to move specific parts of our body (our proprioception).

Yoga teachers often include anatomical references in their instructions, but the gap is often wide between hearing the instruction and accessing/moving that body part.

In BioVinyasa, Ross will project anatomical images and visuals from an interactive anatomy app of various bones, muscles and connective tissue.  He then leads the class through a sequence of poses related to the highlighted anatomy.

You’ll be amazed at what a difference it makes to view the anatomy, visualize it internally and then feel it right away in your own body.

The class is open to all levels and is highly encouraged for both teachers and students interested deepening their alignment knowledge and overall practice.

Session 2: Saturday 10:00-13:00

BioVinyasa – Anatomy of the Shoulders and Upper Back

Anatomy visuals woven into a flow class with an emphasis on the Shoulders and Upper Back. We will also explore how to elevate your handbalancings with a focus on handstands.  Handstands can be fun rather than scary if built on solid technique. We will also be exploring fundamental backbends along with the discovery of the shoulders and upper back.

Session 3: Saturday 14:30-17:30

BioVinyasa – Anatomy of the Low Back, Hips and Legs

Anatomy visuals woven into a flow class with an emphasis on lower back, hips and legs. We will explore how to get deeper into hip openers, thigh stretches, forward bends with an understanding of our own physical body and expanding our limitations through that understanding.

Yoga Workshop & Meditation Lab with Andrea Boni and Ezgi Fisher, Zurich Switzerland

The Journey of Courage

'The Vulnerable Heart of Courage"

The Sanskrit word for courage is “saurya”, which has the same root as the Sanskrit word for “sun”. Courage implies moving through fear. Courage and fearlessness are not the same – in fact, without fear we wouldn’t need courage. This is the kind of courage that contains discipline, wisdom and a quality of presence that rests on profound trust in something greater than personal interest. It is a spiritual maturity that is rooted in stillness. The secret of discovering that power is to turn inward, toward the center of your fear and confusion and allow the energy at the heart to expand. One of the ways to softening into your own being is to recognize your tendency to feel vulnerable. Vulnerability is inseparable from the capacity for intimacy, creativity and love; the place of prayer and yoga. That intimate, soft spot where you encounter your deepest strength.

This workshop is aimed to expanding the awareness of tenderness as a means to access your deepest resources and courage. Because spiritual journey often feels like a dance between the two poles of vulnerability and boundaries. The practice of asana, meditation and personal study will direct you to strengthening your relationship with the great power of courage that lies deeply in the womb of stillness.

Andrea Boni will be teaching contemplation and meditation practices.

Ezgi Fisher will be teaching asana and mantra practices.

The wisdom of courage is a great discovery! This will be an inspiring set of discussions. Come join us!

Yoga Workshop - Philosophy, Meditation, Asana and More with Professor Bill Mahony and Ezgi Fisher, Zurich Switzerland

to Oct 8

Yoga Workshop - Philosophy, Meditation, Asana and More with Professor Bill Mahony and Ezgi Fisher, Zurich Switzerland

“The Light in the Heart is Vaster than All the Worlds”:

Teachings of the Upanishads and the Yogic Life

The Upanishads are collections of sacred teachings from India that have inspired spiritual seekers for well over two thousand years. The wisdom they hold can guide us as we deepen and refine our own spiritual lives in today’s world. The foundation of Vedantic philosophy, the core teaching of the Upanishads is that there is a splendid, divine presence within all that exists and that this same splendor shines within each of us at the deepest and truest level of our being.

This weekend, Bill Mahony will share teachings from the Upanishads with us as we reflect on questions we share with the sages who first taught them: What is the nature of this divine presence that shines in the light of the heart? How can we come to know that light, immerse ourselves in it, and bring it forth? How can we more fully allow it to illumine our thoughts and perspectives, our relationships with others and our lives in the world?

Ezgi Fisher will be teaching asana practice woven into each workshop session, as a way to help integrate and refresh the body and mind. The teachings will be combined with asana, mantra, pranayama and meditation practices.

The wisdom of the Upanishads can inform and support the yogic life as a whole. This will be an inspiring set of discussions. Come join us!
