STAMBHA Yoga School

Course: Stepping into Yoga

Are you at the beginning of your yoga journey? Do you have lots of questions? What is yoga really? If I can do a handstand, am I doing yoga yet? Do I have to meditate to practice yoga? Can yoga replace physiotherapy? Psychotherapy? Is yoga a religion? What is Savasana? Mala? Mantra?

These aren’t stupid or awkward questions, but in many cases they aren’t asked at all. Maybe you are a bit too shy, maybe afraid of sounding ignorant, or maybe you don’t have an opportunity and/or space to ask these questions. These, and possibly more, questions will be answered or clarified during this course.

We prepared an 8-week course (1.5h each session) for beginner students and for those who feel like they need to start from the beginning.

Each time we meet, we will talk about a certain aspect of yoga. We will talk about the history of yoga, we will demystify some commonly used Sanskrit words, we will introduce the main point of yoga philosophy, talk about important texts in yoga such as the Bhagavad Gita and Yoga Sutras.

We will practice physical movement, conscious breathing and much more. There will be time for asking questions and sharing your experience. What we want to do is to create a safe and pleasant space for everyone who is starting their own yoga journey.
